Stockholm-
I am convinced that my parents are nuts. Just a few days ago, while they were at home baking in the Dallas heat, I (along with my father’s credit card) were on a nice big ship cruising through the Stockholm Archipelago on our way to Helsinki.
I thought about my parents many times on the cruise…as I ate the delicious smorgasbord with all you can drink wine, when I chilled in the hot tub, or when I sweated in the sauna, or when I stood on the bow of the ship at sunset…obviously they have a screw loose! I cannot believe that they would let me do all that I have done, and I must say a word of thanks!
The cruise to Helsinki was the only thing that made the Finnish capital worthwhile. Pietro and I managed to secure a nice oversized cabin with a private bath for only 40 euros a night each…the same as a hostel. We had great food, good wine, and plenty of time to sit on the deck and absord the sun.
For the first 5 hours of the cruise, the ship passes breathtaking scenery as the massive ship glides between thousands of tiny islands. Finallly, just in time for sunset, the ship enters the Baltic Sea…absolutely perfect!
So, if you ever find yourself in this neck of the woods, I highly recommend a cruise to Helsinki!
